Reverend Raquel Alston
Reverend Raquel Alston is a native of Buffalo, New York. At an early age, after receiving Christ as her Savior, she realized she had the gift of teaching and began to motivate and inspire generations of people. She was highly active in many ministry activities while growing up in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Buffalo, New York.
Reverend Alston graduated from Pioneer Central High School in 1990. She continued her education at Houghton College where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration 2007. She also obtained a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College in 2010. She pursued her Master of Divinity at Northeastern Seminary in 2013.
In February of 2008, Reverend Alston was ordained and served as an intern at Evangelistic Temple Community Church, Buffalo, New York and in 2009 transitioned to an Associate Minister at Free Spirit Missionary Baptist Church, Buffalo, New York. God in His infinite wisdom strategically promoted Reverend Alston to serve as a Transitional Pastor at Free Spirit Missionary Baptist Church, Buffalo, New York.
In 2016, the Holy Spirit redirected Reverend Alston’s footsteps to serve as pastor at Chaffee Community Baptist Church, Chaffee, New York. On November 20, 2016 Reverend Alston preached her first sermon at Chaffee Community. After a unanimous vote she then humbly accepted the call as Pastor-Elect. She led the church in understanding, embracing, and accomplishing their mission to develop disciples locally, engaging followers in worship, community, and ministry.
Pastor Alston began networking in the community and became active in ecumenical organizations. Her ministry impacted people regardless of their challenges or limitations. She impacted the community greatly. She networked with other churches in the community to form an ecumenical relationship and worked with organizations in the community to make Chaffee Community Baptist Church more visible. She developed an outreach program to Millennials and Generation Xers overseen by Samaritan Purse Operation ShoeBox, thus supervised the Millennials and Generation Xers to develop a Halloween event designed for youth in the community.
In 2019, God led Pastor Alston back to Buffalo, New York and issued another call on her life, the call to plant churches. After successfully serving twelve months years at the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Buffalo, New York, she planted Empowerment Ministry under the banner of the United Methodist Church, where he has been serving since September 2020. Recently she has been appointed to serve as pastor at First United Methodist Church-North Tonawanda
Reverend Raquel Alston is an accomplished pastor that loves to help organizations, groups, and relationships to become healthier and more productive while building rapport and maintaining cultural sensitivity. She brings a message of love, hope, and righteousness to promote a focus on Jesus Christ. With passion, she preaches the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, emphasizing the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary.
She fervently believes the Great Commission of the Church is to go and make disciples of all peoples. Her vision incorporates being interpersonal, evangelism, discipleship, interacting, and connecting with those who attend church as integral priorities in our ministry strategies, and it is the church that has the awesome responsibility of introducing people to Christ, the helpless into the helpful and believers into Christians.
